The 19th century was known as the most celebrated period of Russian Literature as most indisputable masterworks were written in that period. European countries saw the golden age of literature in the 19th century due to the growing popularity of novels. The promise of a greater literary freedom along with technical innovations and inventions was a great influence that is visible in the writings of Russian writers of that time. During that period Russia had exceptional poets and theatre writers too.
